Therefore, with only a few exceptions (Mark 5:41, Mark 7:34, and Matthew 27:46), the New Testament does not contain the exact words of Jesus—it contains an accurate Greek translation of them. Although physical evidence has yet to be found, J.S. Assemane in his Bibliotheca stated that a Syriac Gospel dated 78 A.D. was found in Mesopotamia.
